Thank you for renewing your membership with the club. There are twenty one rallies for you this year.
Your first rally is the Easter Weekend at Oakworth. It is also the first Member’s Meeting of the year so come along to the meeting and have your say regards running the club whether it is negative or positive.
In this years rally programme there are several seaside holiday rallies which were asked for by the members. We are camping on the east coast. First is a temporary holiday rally at Seabum on the North East coast close to South Sheilds. It is run by the South Yorkshire DA of the Camping & Caravanning Club. The second seaside venue is at Wainfleet which is close to Skegness where there is a brewery which does tours for the public.
From here we travel onto Cromer where we are camping on an old World War Two airfield with the use of toilets and showers. Our most popular seaside venue is at Flamborough where this year we are celebrating the club’s 10th anniversary. It will be party time with fancy dress fun and games through out the week. I do hope you can be there.
We have the usual follow on rallies the first being from Colby to Keswick. We will be camping in the Lake District at the Camping & Caravanning Club site at Keswick. The site is just a few minutes walk into Keswick and close to the bus station where you can take a bus ride anywhere in the Lake District. The other one is the Yorkshire War Experience in West Yorkshire. This is a weekend of military re-enactors doing mock battles with tanks and a weekend full of entertainment
I did these venues last year and found them so exciting. I am sure you also will find them the same. Both these venues have to be booked in advance with the appropriate authority. Once you have booked in then tell me so I can book you in on the club’s registrar.
We return to the Malton Rugby Club for the Spring Bank Holiday. This was requested by the member who like this venue. From here you can take the bus into Scarborough or Whitby or better still go into Pickering and travel on the North Yorks Steam Railway into Whitby. In Malton there will be the usual Farmer’s Market plus the indoor market and not too far away is the Lavender Wolds close to Scampton. If it’s World War Two that interests you then why not spend a full day at the Eden Camp World War Two Museum. That is just up the road.
All I ask you to do now is to browse through the rally page and the book if you received it in the postand find rallies you would like to attend for this year. Don’t wait until the booking in date. I will accept telephone bookings if you prefer but they must be done before the booking in date.
See you on the rally field.
