Welcome to a new year of rallies. Our rally secretary has been busy booking rallies for the members of the club. Yes! It is the members of the club who say where they want to rally and the rally secretary has pulled out all the stops to meet with their requests. Our first rally is at a small farm site within walking distance of Ripon in North Yorkshire. It is a four day rally which gives members ample time to explore the area. With Fountains Abbey and the Yorkshire Dales not far away we are spoilt for choice. There are sixteen rallies this year to choose from and all chosen by the members of the club. Some do follow on from one another which makes’ it a nice little holiday, speaking of which, we have holiday rallies in Scotland, Flamborough, and Skegness.

The member’s meeting rally is on the Easter weekend at Hayfield Fisheries in Auckley. It is an ideal place for our fisherman of the club. Weather permitting we hope to do the usual Easter Bonnet parade along with the BBQ on the Sunday. It is in an area of natural beauty and has many nature trails, dog walks, and is full of wild life. There is the Yorkshire Wild Life Safari very close to the site which will be of interest to our members.

As I said earlier we do have some follow on rallies going to places of special interest. There is a special rally booking form for the members to fill in. Please note the booking in date. There is sometimes a four to six weeks in advance booking in date. Please observe them carefully. The club has reserved spaces at the ACCEO AGM Rally and the Lincoln Motorhome show. Would members get a booking form from the Rally Secretary and book direct with Warners. Also send a club rally booking form to the Rally Secretary.

Rallies for 2015 are now taking place and members are asked to forward their suggestions to the rally secretary. All venues will be considered no matter where they are as long as the venue has an easy access and clean drinking water and Elsan disposal point. Toilets on site would be an advantage but not essential. It also would be helpful if when suggesting a venue that you put down what there is in the surrounding how long you wish to rally for and the month you would like to go. Once we have the suggestions it will be discussed at the July members meeting in the hope that a programme can be put together and the rally secretary will book them. If a holiday rally is preferred instead of a follow on rallies then please write it down. There are some wonderful venues for a holiday from the coast to the country. Remember, it is your club and it is up to you to say where we go camping.

It would be nice to have a few more rally reports. The reports which we receive are very good but it is usual from the same people. What we want is reports from those who have never written one. It is their views that we want. It only takes a half hour to write on and to save on postage you can e-mail it or hand it to the editor on the rally. If anyone takes some photographs on a rally then send them in to the editor. They can be with the report or they can be printed in the book along side someone else’s report. When they are printed it will give a better idea of how we enjoyed ourselves to those members who didn’t go and hopefully it will give them a keen interest to go to the next rally.
