Since my last report, I have been busy booking several rally venues for next year though I am having difficulty finding a venue for a holiday rally in Devon. Some campsites won’t take us as there are only a few of us and others are charging far too much. I have given it some though that because of this it may be a good idea for those members who are interested in going to Devon that we should book ourselves in on a camping & caravanning temporary holiday site which will solve our problem. I would be interested to hear from our members of their thought on this idea.
Our club holiday at Wainfleet and Cromer was exceptional. Five units turned out for Wainfleet and three for Cromer. The weather was brilliant also. We toured the area around Skegness each day calling in on various small towns and villages and been given a running commentary by Maureen on what we were looking at. She knew the area quote well as she was brought up here when she was a young girl.
Later that week, we took the public service bus to Boston market. We went by bus as my campervan was still in the garage. Whilst waiting for the camper van to be returned we had a walk into Bateman brewery to enquire about a rally for next year. The campsite is quite nice with electric hook ups and is situated next to the river Rlymm. I have booked a rally there for next August.
The clubs Christmas dinner rally at Rufforth could be in jeopardy unless we can have more members attending. It wasn’t that long ago we were getting a good attendance, but for some reasons best know to the missing members we are now only getting a few which makes it difficult to keep the cost down. The price of using the hall is the most costly and this year it has to be paid by the missing members. So this year we have decided to have our Christmas lunch at the pub in North Scarle.
