Gargrave Rally by Eunice & Ron

After a bad start to the camping season due to health problems then camper
van troubles we finally got to catch up on some of that lovely weather before
it disappeared. We managed to get a few fishing camps in and finally at last
got to a rally and an enjoyable one.

The sun was out when we arrived on the Sunday after a trouble free drive from home. Linda lan Anne John & Geoff were there since Thursday. It was lovely meeting again especially the first time for meeting Geoff though we didn’t see much of him as he was
preparing his trailer tent for selling, Hope it went well for you Geoff. The campsite was well kept and very clean with walks along the Leeds -Liverpool canal into the village.

On Monday Ian took us all except Geoff into Skipton. What a busy place with lots of shops and a big street market. We bought a couple of trays from one market stall. That evening Ian & Linda put on a tasty meal of pie peas & chips followed by apple pie & custard and trifle. It went down well with everyone. Those who have been with Ian & Linda before will know what good hosts they are. Thanks to you both.

Tuesday we were taken to Bolton Abbey. It is an interesting place to visit with beautiful
views and walks. From there we went onto Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway station where we enjoyed a welcome cuppa tea in the station cafe.

Wednesday Ron & I decided to walk to the village but it started raining
heavily so we turned back. We had been lucky so far regards the weather. As usual the evening was spent in the Rally Arms while drinks and nibbles were there for all with a good chat, well, I did, I had a lot of catching up to do, well, that’s my excuse. We had a raffle and I won a bottle of wine, very nice.
Thursday after coffee morning we said our goodbyes and went our separate
ways. Thank you again for all your company and we hope to see you all
again very soon.
