Autumn 2014 Rallier

We have almost completed another rallying year and it’s been quite successful. There was an improvement in attendances and the rallies were slightly longer than normal. There was also an improvement in an attendance at the Lincoln Motorhome Show which made the club qualify for our own pitch. Five members came which qualified us to have our own pitch, and what a pitch it was. We were right next to the toilets, next to the drinking water, and next to the elsan disposal. We had just a short walk to the entertainment and a walk to the exhibition show. I only hope that we get the same pitch next year. I have asked for it. I also want to thank those members who supported it this year.

It was a different story though for the ACCEO National Rally. Only two members made the journey to Towcester. It was another successful rally with plenty to do and see. On Thursday the local fish and chip van called on site selling whale and chips. Well not a whale but quite a huge fish. On the Friday evening we settled in the marquee to hear the singing voice of Phil Carr and on the Saturday evening we were entertained by a Bavarian Brass Band. The raffle’s top prize was a solar panel with free fitting to your unit. Next years ACCEO National Rally is being held at Stafford Show ground which is closer to us in the North which I hope there will be more members interested in attending.

The rally venue list for 2015 is almost finalised. A small rally list has been sent to members for your attention. I have introduced a couple of new venues which should prove popular. I am still waiting for three replies from site owners I have written to. These are also new site venues for us to try but at this time I am writing this report I have had no replies. Members are still giving me ideas in where to hold a rally which I am looking into. One of them is Carsington Waters in The Derbyshire Dales.

Finally I wish to thank everyone who sent me messages of goodwill after having told you in my last report of my prostate cancer. To update you I have finished my treatment of radiotherapy and am now on tablets. I have to return to hospital in February 2015 to see how my progress is doing. I do apologies for my absence from the rally at Flamborough
whilst attending James cook Hospital in Middlesbrough. Linda deputised for me and she did a stunning job which I thank her for.
